Tomi Dobbs is a young activist, author, and speaker on a mission to promote education and inspire change. At just 10 years old, Tomi has already made a significant impact through her work with the Student Education Initiative in Faith Kenya Mission, an organization started by her mother that focuses on improving access to education and clean water in underprivileged communities in Massachusetts and Kenya. .

Tomi’s passion for literacy and education has driven her to write three books on important social issues, including the importance of literacy, water scarcity, and standing for change. Her work has been recognized through invitations to speak at events such as TEDx, where she delivered a powerful talk on the importance of literacy in breaking the cycle of poverty.

The One Student One Book One Dream Movement was founded as a mechanism for children in the United States to help youth around the world gain access to books and the equipment and materials needed for extra-curricular activities such as sports, music, and art. These activities are crucial to a child’s development and provide opportunities to develop their skills and interests in different areas as well as to develop the skills needed to be successful in future endeavors, such as leadership and social and interpersonal skills.

This initiative was started in 2022 by 9-year-old, Tomi Dobbs of Lexington Massachusetts, USA. When they donated books to Faith Kenya Mission America  Initiative to raise awareness of the importance of helping others better their lives. Through this gesture, Tomi realized children students in Kenya and low social economic areas here at home lacked access to books. The students have been instrumental in launching innovative book donations and collecting funds for clean water and sanitation for children in Massachusetts and Kenya.
